This qualification is designed for candidates who wish to work in the industry or go on to complete the NVQ courses in hairdressing. It is ideal for those not working directly in the hairdressing industry. 

 

Candidates practice their skills until reaching an acceptable level before finally being assessed on friends, family and mannequin heads. Candidates will learn the foundations of cutting, colouring, styling, perming, shampooing and conditioning the hair, plus how to advise and consult with the client whilst working safely and effectively at all times. 

 

This qualification is aimed at candidates from 14 years of age and upwards, with a good general level of education. 

 

This qualification is suitable for those with a work placement in a hairdressing salon. Evidence of competence is gathered whilst working in the industry and attending e-hair academy one day a week. 

 

Students will learn to cut, colour, style, perm, shampoo and condition the hair. Give advice and carry out client consultation, plus, work safely and professionally also to carry out reception duties. Students practice on mannequin heads progressing on to real clients. 

 

NVQ Level 2 is also suitable for someone looking to change career,someone who may not be currently working in the industry. Private courses are also available at this level. (Please ask for more information). 

 

This qualification is suitable for those having already gained NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing or experienced hairdressers looking to improve their skills. Students will improve and expand skills already achieved plus learn and develop a range of new ones, for example, colour correction princples. 

 

This course is ideal for building experience and confidence in providing a wide range of hairdressing services. It is also suitable for those wishing to progress on to an assessing/supervisory role in the future.

This is the qualification that is the doorway to a career in Beauty Therapies, which allows candidates to explore their interest in this industry. It is suitable for students from aged 14 and it is suggested that candidates have a good general education. 

 

Students will learn to work safely and effectively, be able to operate reception areas, show knowledge of anatomy and physiology plus have an understanding of the industry and its practices. 

 

Successful completion of this qualification offers a progression route onto Level 2 in Beauty Therapy. 

 

This qualification, upon completion, will open up opportunities for employment within the beauty therapy industry. 

 

Students will work on each other and on real clients, to acheive competence in the following; skin conditions and facials, eyelash/brow treatments, waxing, manicure and pedicure. Candidates will learn to work safely and effectively, be able to provide make-up treament, advise on treatments and carry out client consultation.

Candidates must already have completed Level 2 in Beauty Therapy to progress to Level 3. This qualifiaction allows candidates to improve and add to the skills already acheived. 

 

Students will learn to work safely and effectively, use artificial nail systems, repair and enhance artificial nail structures, plan and provide nail art services and create images of nail art techniques. 

 

This course is also suitable for those wishing to progress on to an assessing or teaching role in the future. 

This course is suitable for those wanting a career in barbering and who have found employment within a barbers shop or in a unisex salon. It is also suitable for qualified hairdressers wishing to add to their skills and for those wishing to change career who may not be currently working in the industry. Candidates will learn to cut and shape facial hair, cut hair using barbering techniques, style and colour the hair plus shampoo and condition the hair and scalp. They will also learn to work safely and effectively, give advice, carry out consultations and work on reception. 

 

Candidates initially work on mannequin heads progressing on to real clients. 

 

This qualification is suitable for those having already gained Level 2 in Barbering or experienced barbers looking to improve and expand skills already acheived plus learn and develop a range of new ones.

This course is designed for assessors of NVQs, who plan to assess candidates either in their place of work or for a training provider. 

 

Candidates will learn to plan assessments, give constructive feedback, support and develop students. They will contribute to quality assurance processes and complete awarding body paperwork as required.
